Our Lady of the Rosary Feast Day

is October 7th

Come and join us on

Saturday, October 11th at 4:30 p.m. at Blessed Serra to say the Rosary.

Our Lady of Fatima is the title given to the Blessed Virgin Mary by those who believe that she

appeared to three shepherd children at Fatima, Portugal on the 13th day of six consecutive months in 1917,starting on the 13th  of May, the Fatima holiday. The three children were Lucia dos Santos and her cousins, siblings, Francisco and Jacinta Marto. The title of Our Lady of the Rosary is also sometimes used in reference to the same apparition because the children related that the Lady in the apparition specifically identified herself as “the Lady of the Rosary.”

FAITHFUL CITIZENSHIP

The upcoming election offers Catholics a

valuable chance to consider how the messages

of the Scriptures and the

insights of Catholic teaching can be applied

to the priority issues of our society. The U.S.

Catholic bishops have urged us to recognize

the moral and ethical dimensions of the

issues and to “To see beyond party politics,

to analyze

campaign rhetoric critically, and to choose

their political leaders according to principle,

not party affiliation or mere self interest:

(Living the Gospel,No.33). We strongly urge all parishioners to become informed on key

issues and to vote. If you would like information

about Catholic teaching on our civic

responsibilities, information is available in the foyer.
